Bakelite Graphite

Bakelite graphite is an amplification of carbon-graphite, can be obtained with binders with a bases synthetic resins; the main characteristics of  bakelite graphite is a high resistance, high voltage drop and high ratio between transverse and longitudinal electric resistance, which has a positive effect minimizing the switching current. Bakelite graphite is principally used for electric generators up to 30kW power, for collector motors, electric motors with variable speed, repulsions, universal electric motors, rotating converters, auxiliary exciter.

Hard Coal

Hard coal is obtained from amorphous carbons, it has solid structure, high hardness and it is sufficiently abrasive to have a cleaning effect on the collector; in case of difficult switching and high peripheral speed must be used hard coal with high resistance and graphite structure. Hard coal is principally used for universal motors, for electric machines up to 30 kW power and 500 V, current contacts , bar collectors can be free or hardly visible of mica.

Carbon Graphite

Carbon graphite can be obtained from graphite and carbons, due to it’s mineral components it is not too much abrasive and therefore it has low cleaning effect on the collector, it can remove from the collector light burnings only if the peripheral speed and flashing are low. Carbon graphite is principally used for rotating electrical machines with high peripheral speed like turbo alternators; electric motors up to approx 30 kW power, universal motors, micro motors and any dynamos and motor vehicles.

Electrographite

Electrographite can be obtained from carbon material, precooked and hardened at a temperature higher than 2500ºC in a graphite furnace, where the conversion of carbon in to electrographite happens; the most part of impurities are removed and it`s physical characteristics are considerably better then the hard coals. Electrographite has excellent properties of switching and level of safety against short circuit and burning. Electrographite is principally used for every direct current motors, for the collector rotating machines, for A. C. motors, railway electric traction motors, universal motors, generators, rotating converters, rotating phase advancer, rings collectors, and bar collectors can must be free of mica.

Metal Graphite

Metal graphite can be obtained from graphite and carbons mixed with dust of copper and other metals, it has a high conductivity and low electric contact resistance; current density is much higher then of pure carbon one. Metal graphite is principally used for rotating taps for grounding, direct current rotating electric machines with low voltage, starting motors for vehicles, asynchronous motors synchronized, rings collectors.

Silver Graphite

Silver graphite can be obtained mixing, compacting and synthesized graphite and silver dusts; it has a very good conductivity and therefore it is especially used where it absolutely necessary to have the lowest voltage drop, for example, to get electric signals with low values of voltage of current. Silver graphite is principally used for tachymetryc dynamo, low voltage micro motors, creeping contacts, measurement signals trasmeters.
